'Restoring Balance'

A new environment often brings with it an inevitable sense of imbalance—whether it’s unequal access to information or emotional instability. These challenges are diverse and deeply personal. We are committed to addressing these imbalances head-on, offering empathetic and practical solutions. Our support goes beyond simply providing information; we stand beside individuals every step of the way, offering continuous guidance and accompaniment until balance is restored.

Human Rights: with Rohingya

December 2024

On Human Rights Day, our representative Khadiza Begum stands for the right to express one’s identity freely and with pride.

As a Rohingya, we know the struggle of having our identity denied, but we also know the power of resilience. Human rights begin with the freedom to be who we are.

Seminar for Muslim minority women in Japan

November 2024

At the workshop hosted by Harmony Sisters Network, we discussed ways to support elementary school children as mothers. Common support methods included preparing nutritious breakfasts, providing halal lunches, helping with homework, arranging extracurricular activities, and teaching manners and religious practices.

However, there are many challenges. Differences in language proficiency between parents and children, as well as cultural differences, can make smooth support difficult. There’s a need for parents to learn Japanese for their children’s sake, to continue teaching their native language to preserve their heritage, and to help children strengthen their academic Japanese language skills for better performance in school.

These challenges make it all the more important to support each other and find solutions together. The next workshop will focus on preparing for middle school, high school, and eventually university.

Seminar for foreigners in Japan

November 2024

We held a special seminar aimed at helping Rohingya women understand their legal status in Japan and expand their life choices. The activity was designed to support a deep understanding of residence qualifications and naturalization procedures.

During the lecture by Mr. Masato Aoki, participants learned about Japanese law and the residency qualification system in an accessible way. This session provided support for participants to understand the processes and preparations necessary, aiding them in taking steps towards their future.

Our activity welcomed not only the Rohingya community but also many Japanese participants, offering an opportunity to reflect on the importance of multicultural coexistence. By learning and growing together, we hope to deepen mutual understanding and take the first step towards building a richer society.
